Disability Relief Foundation Tanzania (DRFT) is a Non-Governmental Organization established in 2022. The organization registered in May 2024 under the Tanzania NGO act no 24 of 2002 as amended in 2005 with the registration number 00NGO/R/6986 aiming at supporting People with Disabilities in three areas include; Health, Education and Economic Empowerment. 

The organization headquarters located in Morogoro Municipal at Lungo Street, Kiwanja cha Ndege Ward and its Postal Address 166, Morogoro. The organization’s activities shall be carried out in TANZANIA mainland.        

The overall goal of DRFT is to be the leading Non-Governmental Organization in disability rights, advocacy and representative of and for all People with Disabilities (PWD’s), which strives for the realization of our vision of a social justice, accessible and inclusive community in which the human rights belonging, contribution, potential and diversity of all people with disability are recognized, respected and celebrated with pride.

DRFT is an equal and nonpartisan and not discriminating body and shall not support its target population in line with race, religion, ethnicity and political orientation.

1.1 Vision

Our vision is to create conducive environment for the People with Disabilities by promoting equality, dignity and ensuring that individuals with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else to participate in all sphere of life (Socially, Politically, Culturally as well as Economically). 

1.2 Mission

Our mission is to work in partnership with public and private institutions in Tanzania for supporting people with disabilities, their families, carers and other professionals through capacity building, advocate for disabled rights, economic empowerment, market linkages to remove barriers in societies and systems, so that people with Disabilities are fully included and can fulfil their potential.
